Camping trip, then scenes of trip to Florida. No kids so perhaps early in 1940. Monkey Jungle was in Miami so large city likely Miami. Warren age 47 and Helen age 48 are shown in movie. It could be they were in Miami then, but they eventually had a winter home in Naples, which is where Warren died on March 15, 1987.

Avenue C home, Ken walking.  It doesn't appear to be Christmas since no tree.  Perhaps it is Ken's 1st birthday on January 25, 1942 since he is playing with new pedal car and toys.

It may be soon after Kenneth learned to walk.  Kenneth age about 14 months and Mildred age 29.

Mildred's parents; Earl Sheldon age 70 and Maude (Muchler) Sheldon age 58 were visiting.  Unidentified girl about age 7.

Perhaps this was taken in the Spring of 1942.  No coats, Kenneth in stroller, but later was walking. His age maybe 15 months, Mildred would be age 29.  It doesn't look like the drugstore. Perhaps it was a grocery store across Detroit Street, just around the corner from Avenue C.

Camping likely summer of 1942, light clothing. Kenneth with car and trailer parked in backyard of Avenue C home.  Martha Ann who will be born in perhaps 6-8 months on January 17, 1943. Later in video it's like Fall, Mildred and Kenneth wearing coats and George in a suit.

Kenneth has winter coat and hat on, so likely it's Fall of 1942 when he would be about 20 months old.

Kenneth is wearing a winter coat and hat so it's likely Fall of 1942.  Mildred age 29 and her sister Mabel age 27 and Kenneth about age 20 months.  It appears to show they are visiting the Deeds Bell Carillon in Dayton, Ohio. They stopped at a roadside park for water and potty, but just have a car, no trailer.  

Hunters arrived home after deer hunting trip, likely the Upper Peninsula where I had heard they hunted. (George used to talk about the long lines for the ferry across the Straits of Mackinac.  The Mackinac bridge would be built in 15 years in 1957.)  It wouldn't be until 1951 until the land in Hillman would be bought.

Kenneth age 22 months and Mildred age 29, who will give birth to Martha Ann in about 2 months.  Ed Wagner (with pipe) age 49 and his wife Lydia age 50 who lived at 1310 Detroit Street just up the street from Avenue C home and the drugstore.

The movie was taken at George Ward's parent's home in Ingersoll Township in Midland, Michigan.  The old house still stands, as does the chicken coop, and the barn which was built in 1911.

Hattie (Hayden) Ward age 73 was a widow. Her husband Louis Edgar Ward had died on May22, 1938.  Also in the movie is Kenneth age about 18 months and Mildred age 29, Nilah Grace (Basore) Ward, Ollie's wife, was age 31, her daughters Ferne age 7 and Sharon age 5.

With the livestock, chickens, horses, etc. this was still a working farm.  Hattie, a widow, must have had help, likely her son Ollie was working the farm.  George, Mildred, and Ken must have stayed in their trailer which can be seen.

Christmas, Friday December 25, 1942, was at 1136 Ave C. in Flint, Michigan.  George Ward age 36, Mildred (Sheldon) Ward age 29, and Kenneth Ward age 1 yr 11 months are living at home.  Mildred's parents; Earl Sheldon age 70 and Maude (Muchler) Sheldon age 58 were visiting.

Mildred's younger sister Mable Sheldon age 27, single, may have been living with them and attending Beauty School.  With her is Sam Kregul (Samuel Anthonia Kregulka) age 42, who was divorced from Nellie who he married in 1926.  George and Mildred have been married for 5 years 11 months.  Mable and Sam would not marry for 13 months, on January 29, 1944.

Christmas, Saturday December 25, 1943, was at the Avenue C home in Flint, Michigan.  In the movie are Martha Ann age 11 months, Kenneth age 2 yrs 11 months, Mildred age 30, George age 37, and Mable age 28.

In 1 month 4 days George and Mildred will host a reception at their home for Mable and Sam's wedding.

Christmas, Monday December 25, 1945, was at 2532 Thomas Street in Flint, Michigan.  Martha Ann age 1 yrs 11 months, Kenneth age 3 yrs 11 months, Mildred age 31, and George age 38, Maurice age 25.  (Note: I think there is additional footage of this Christmas and I will add it when I verify that it is this Christmas.)

Christmas, Tuesday December 25, 1945, was at 2532 Thomas Street in Flint, Michigan.  Martha Ann age 2 yrs 11 months, Kenneth age 4 yrs 11 months, Robert 2-1/2 months, Mildred age 32, and George age 39 were living at home.  Visitors for the day included Edwin Earl age 73, Maude age 61, Maurice age 26, Evelyn age 21, Mable age 30, and Sam age 45.

A Sheldon reunion in the summer of 1946, likely at the farm of Earl Sheldon age 74 and Maude (Muchler) Sheldon age 62.  The farm was at  5256 S. Jennings Road in Mundy Township, in Genesee County, Michigan.

Some of those in the movie are Mildred Lenora (Sheldon) Ward age 33, Kenneth George Ward age 5-1/2, Martha Ann Ward age 3-1/2, and Robert Sheldon Ward age about 8-9 months, and Marguerite Charlotte (Sheldon) Stone age 36.  Also in the movie (mixing cement) is Marion Maude (Sheldon) Habedand age 27, who originally was married to Meirl H. Olmstead, then in 1942 married Raymond F. Habedand (2nd of 4 husbands).  Also in the movie is her daughter Connie Lee Omsted age 9.  Maude's sister Nellie age 76 is shown hugging Marguerite. 

Wedding on June 22, 1946 of Maurice Richard Sheldon age 25 (actually his 26th birthday is the next day) and Evelyn Estelle Smither age 22.  The video was taken before and after the wedding at 2532 Thomas Street, at Maurice's sister Mildred's home..

Parents of the groom are Edwin Earl Sheldon age 70 and Maude Manora (Muchler) Sheldon age 58.  Parents of the bride are Edmond L. Smither age 40 and Naomi E. (Morgan) Smither age 38.  Martha Ann Ward age 3 yrs 5 months is the flower girl and Kenneth George Ward age 5 yrs 5 months is the ring bearer, respectively.  The wedding took place at the Methodist Episcopal Church on Bristol Road in Mundy Township, Rev. C. E. Buerkle officiating.

Christmas, Wednesday December 25, 1946, was at 2532 Thomas Street in Flint, Michigan.  George age 40, Mildred age 33, Kenneth age 5 yrs 11 months, Martha age 3 yrs 11 months, and Robert age 14 months were living at home.  Visitors included Edwin Earl age 74, Maude age 62, Maurice age 27, Evelyn age 22, Mable age 31, and Sam age 46.

Maurice and Evelyn were married 6 month ago on June 22, 1946.  Mable and Sam have been married for 2 yrs 11 months.

The question always has been who dressed up as Santa.  It could be Maurice, more likely it was Sam.  He was a deer hunter and Santa was wearing hunting clothes and just added a mask with a white beard.

Christmas, Thursday December 25, 1947, was at 2532 Thomas Street in Flint, Michigan.  George age 41, Mildred age 34, Kenneth age 6 yrs 11 months, Martha age 4 yrs 11 months, and Robert age 2 yrs 2 months were living at home.  Visitors shown in the movie included Edwin Earl age 75 and Maude age 63.

Again, the question is who dressed up as Santa.  It must have been taken either the night before Christmas or very early Christmas morning, before the kids got up.  Now I'm thinking it has always been George, and Mildred was taking the movie.
